Ernst Neumann Hematologist Königsberg

Who was Ernst Christian Neumann? He was a member of the family of scientists as well as his father Franz Ernst Neumann, his grandfather Karl Gottfried Hagen, his uncle Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel and their descendants, who all worked at the Königsberg university „Albertina“.
This website explains to you, why Ernst Christian Neumann is mentioned as the „First Hematologist of the Hematology of the 19. Century“, because he not only found out the bone marrow as blood forming organ in 1868, but described the blood-stem-cell in the post-embryotic bone marrow (1869), the embryotic liver (1874) and the embryotic bone marrow(1874).

Literature of stem-cell documentation: Ernst Neumann: Neue Erkenntnisse der Blutbildung. In: E. Wagners Archiv der Heilkunde, Bd. XV, 1874 Explication: 6f ß and 6h ß are the later on pluripotent „großlymphozytäre Stammzelle“ (Neumann) in embryotic liver – as well sawn in postembryotic Bone Marrow in 1868, at that time named: „Lymphoide Markzelle“ (see Button: Stem Cell). 6e , 6f@ and 6 i are the first described Erytrozytoblast with Haemoglobin in it – here in embryotic liver, but observed 1868 in postembryotic Bone Marrow. Neumann observed with his „Nativpräparat“ without any chemistry. See the stem cell 6 e´, where Neumann observed this origin-cells, but preparated themselves with „Essigsäure“ Acetic acid.
